7. Female lays first egg 1 or 2 days after mating.
8. Female can lay approximately 3 to 8 eggs per day for the next 16 days.
9. Having lived 32 to 35 days the louse dies.

So you can see it can up to a few weeks of daily work just to make sure that they do not return. To solve this never ending head lice life cycle you need to so some research on the topic as there is really no reason that they need to exist for more than a few weeks after you have done the work required to exterminate them.
